Hello, Everyone! My name is Miwa Gardner. I moved to Tokyo because I am a huge fun of big city life as there is always something new and exciting to do. Also I feel energized with all the commotion and liveliness of living in a busy city. Tokyo is completely different from my hometown, Austin, Texas in the USA. Texas is an enormous state, taking over 10 hours to drive from east to west. This area encomappses a lot of everything that is stereotypical of Texas; cowboys, ranches, cactuses, etc.

Austin is also home to my Alma Mater, the University of texas, the biggest university in the United states. There are also many other notable colleges and universities here which create a very liberal, cultural and educated city. In recent years, Austin has exploded onto the national scene in commerce, politics, music, and most recently, pop culture. Perhaps some of you have heard of MTV's infamous reality TV series "Real World." Austin was the lates venue for the main characters crazy atunts. There are many great international music and film festivals as well. Austin is even dubbed "The Live Music Capital of the World" because of its innumerable livehouses. I love to walk down it and liwten to the many open-air concets. Texas borders Mexico, which mean that Austin has mastered the fine art of fusion cuisine. Tex-Mex (Texas Mexican food) is fantastic here. Tex-Mex is theprobably the No. 1 type of food that I miss while living in Japan. ....I could go on and on about how fun Austin is, but I could do the same of Tokyo, I guess that's my personality. Well, I look forward to meeting and speaking with everyone of you in the near future. talk to you Soon!
