The Hong Kong where I lived
Hi! My name is Tanya.
I'd like to introduce Hong Kong to all of you, the place where I lived most of my life.
When it comes to Hong Kong, tourists may first think about; yum chan(affectionately known as dim sum to the locals), mango pudding million dollar night view, and bargain shopping. There is more to offer than just fine cosine and the concrete jungle.
With a land area of over 1,100 square kilometers, it is not surprising that Hong Kong would be categorized as densely populated. It is not all concrete jungle there. There are over 260 outlying islands, which a lot of are sparsely populated.
Islands such as Peng Chau, Cheung Chau and lamma are easily accessible by ferry and make a pleasant weekend trip if one wants to escape the hustle of the city and relax on the white sandy beaches.
One place I always enjoy going to is Hollywood Road situated in Central, Hong Kong side. I have recently built an interest in Chinese antiques.
Here you can find shops and galleries showcasing the antiques. I am very impressed with how knowledgeable the shopkeepers are. I felt I was in museums speaking to the curators.
