A Place I love When I was a little girl, I loved to go to a brook running down among hills at the back of our elementary school. Our school was at the foot of some mountains, so it was surrounded by nature. A child learns from his surroundings, so there was nothing better than our school. I was glad to have a chance to study at such a great school. I could learn many things from not only textbooks but also the natural surroundings.

In the summer, no sooner had we gotten there than we took off our socks. We didn’t need to wear them anymore. When I sat down on the rock, my feet could be soaked in a brook. Cool water and the murmur of stream made me feel comfortable. Swinging trees by wind, the chirps of the small birds and the smell of fresh green also made me feel refreshed. I loved to sit on my favorite rock and chat with my friends. Sometimes we sang songs together on the rock and danced in imitation of popular singers. We didn’t need to worry about others. On another day, we caught small crabs, pond skaters, and other living things in the brook. In the winter, snow fell on our secret place. We could step into a private wonderful garden to set foot on new snow where nobody had left footsteps. Trees were covered with snow. We could only hear the sound of the snow falling down from branches and that of the stream. It was very quiet like another world. We enjoyed throwing snowballs and made a snowman there. I remember as if it were yesterday. It's one of my precious memories. I will never forget my favorite place.
